DRR CCA Club Inter-College Video Competition 2026
RedR India invites students for the Inter-College Video Competition 2026 to showcase practical and innovative solutions that enhance climate resilience and disaster preparedness. Got an idea that can help communities become more resilient to disasters and climate change? This is your chance to showcase it through a short, impactful video!
Submission Deadline
📅 Last Date to Submit: 25 June 2026
Theme: Engineering or Nature-Based Solutions for Climate Resilience
Suggested Sub-Themes (Pick ONE that excites you)
🏙️ Urban & Housing Themes
1. "Beat the Heat" – Solutions for urban heat islands (cool roofs, tree corridors, reflective paints, ventilation designs).
2. "Flood-Proof My Home" – Raised foundations, water-resistant materials, elevated electricals, or floating houses.
3. "Slum Resilience" – Low-cost drainage, community toilets on raised platforms, or piped water solutions for informal settlements.
🌊 Water & Coastal Themes
4. "Taming the River" – Engineering (embankments, spillways) vs. Nature (floodplain restoration, riparian buffers).
5. "Mangrove Army" – How mangroves reduce cyclone damage, plus engineered alternatives like vegetative sea walls.
6. "Rainwater Harvesting 2.0" – Traditional stepwells (baoli), rooftop harvesting, or recharge wells in cities.
⛰️ Land & Mountain Themes
7. "Landslide Stop" – Engineering (retaining walls, rock bolts) vs. Nature (vetiver grass, slope terracing, tree planting).
8. "Drought-Proof Farming" – Micro-irrigation, traditional kunds/tanks, agroforestry, or moisture-retaining bunds.
🔥 Disaster-Specific Themes
9. "Cyclone Ready" – Early warning systems, cyclone shelters, or mangrove belt restoration.
10. "Earthquake Safe" – Bamboo reinforcement, base isolation, or traditional construction techniques (taq, dhajji dewari).
11. "Traditional Wisdom" – Pick one indigenous solution (e.g., Apatani rice-fish system, Kashmiri houseboats, or Bhunga houses in Kutch).
Students are also free to select any other relevant topic connected to climate resilience and disaster management.
